Ticha Penicheiro, a native of Portugal, carved out one of the most illustrious careers in WNBA history, before transitioning to a successful role as a sports agent. Ticha starred at Old Dominion University, where she led the Lady Monarchs to an NCAA championship game appearance and left an indelible mark with her playmaking skills.
Drafted by the Sacramento Monarchs in 1998, Ticha quickly established herself as one of the premier guards in the league, earning four WNBA All-Star appearances and securing the WNBA assists title multiple times. Her on-court success was highlighted by leading the Monarchs to their first and only WNBA Championship in 2005. Her storied career not only earned her induction into the Hall of Fame but also recognition as one of the Top 25 WNBA Players of All-Time, celebrating her profound impact on and off the court.
Post-retirement, Ticha turned her passion for basketball into a career in representation, spending over a decade at SIG Sports as the Director of Women’s Basketball. There, she was pivotal in managing and mentoring top talent in the WNBA and across various international leagues, leveraging her extensive experience as a player to offer unparalleled insights and advocacy for her clients. Ticha is also an active WNBA & FIBA certified agent.
In her new role, Ticha brings a player-first perspective that enhances the agency's innovative player-driven model. She is dedicated to shaping the next generation of women in sports through strategic career planning and holistic personal development.
